Design & Display:
At first glance, the Find X8 Ultra may come across as... unassuming. No glittery backs or screaming color gradients—just a clean, matte frosted glass finish, housed in a flat aluminum frame. It feels premium without trying too hard.
But the real visual standout is the massive rear camera island—dubbed the Cosmos Ring. While elegant, it's slightly intrusive in hand, forcing your fingers to grip lower than natural. Still, it’s sleeker than similar designs from competitors like Xiaomi’s 15 Ultra.
One neat addition is the customizable Shortcut Button—an answer to Apple’s Action Button. Whether it's toggling the flashlight, launching the camera, or activating Breeno (Oppo’s AI assistant), it adds a layer of utility. The quick camera button on the side also brings rapid shooting controls, letting you launch the camera and snap shots with minimal friction. Small touches, big impact.
Display Specs That Impress
Up front, you're greeted by a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel with LTPO tech, 1440x3168 resolution, and dynamic refresh from 1Hz to 120Hz. The display shines—literally—with a peak brightness of nearly 2,300 nits, which is stellar, although still edged out by the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
The screen is a bit cooler in its default mode, but color temperature is easily adjustable, and features like adaptive tone (similar to Apple’s True Tone) are great for ambient color adjustments. Eye comfort is further boosted with 2160Hz PWM dimming, reducing eye strain.

The fifth "camera" is a True Chroma sensor, which fine-tunes white balance and color accuracy by analyzing the color temperature of each segment in the frame. It doesn’t take pictures but helps make every photo more true-to-life.
Video
Video performance is another strong point. The Find X8 Ultra handles 4K60fps beautifully, with great stabilization and clarity, even at higher zoom levels. The lack of 4K120fps on our unit was surprising, but the current output quality more than makes up for it.
Battery & Charging:
Here’s where Oppo absolutely nails it. Despite its slim 8.78mm profile, the Find X8 Ultra houses a massive 6,100mAh battery. Combine that with 100W fast charging, and you’ve got a phone that not only lasts well over a day but also juices up in record time.
This combination is rare—most phones that charge this fast sacrifice battery capacity. Oppo gives you both. Whether you're a power user or a casual scroller, battery anxiety won’t be a thing.
Bonus: you still get the 100W charger in the box, along with a USB cable, TPU case, SIM ejector, and manuals. Oppo clearly didn’t get the memo about "minimal packaging."
Performance:
Under the hood lies the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, backed by 16GB RAM and expandable memory via Oppo’s RAM expansion feature—up to 28GB total. Performance is as smooth as you'd expect, with top-tier benchmark scores and zero lag in real-world use.
From intense gaming to multitasking, the Find X8 Ultra handles everything without breaking a sweat. Only Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra edges it out slightly in performance metrics—but we’re splitting hairs at this level.
Software:
Here’s where things get complicated.
The Find X8 Ultra runs ColorOS 15 based on Android 15, offering a rich, customizable experience—on paper. In practice, it's very much tailored for the Chinese market. While global users can sideload apps and change the language to English, many prompts and AI features remain Mandarin-exclusive.
Oppo’s Breeno assistant doesn’t speak English, and AI-powered features like AI Writer or AI Search only work within Chinese apps. You can use Google services and even install Gemini, but you won’t get the full assistant experience baked into the OS.
For those importing the device, be prepared for a bit of manual setup and a slightly cluttered UI. It’s a trade-off that might not be worth it for everyone.
Audio & Haptics:
Audio is delivered via dual stereo speakers, which are impressively loud and detailed. The bass is punchy, and mids/highs are crisp even at full volume. It’s easily one of the better-sounding phones out there.
Haptics are equally premium—strong, sharp, and precise. Oppo’s vibration motor continues to be one of the most refined in Android land, matching the likes of the iPhone and Samsung flagships.
Verdict:
The Oppo Find X8 Ultra is a technological marvel wrapped in minimalist clothing. It doesn’t wow you with flash—it impresses with function. Between the massive battery, superfast charging, powerful performance, and outstanding camera system, there’s very little this phone doesn’t do well.
But here's the caveat: it's China-exclusive. Unless you're willing to import and tinker with the OS, most global users won't have access to its full potential. And that’s a shame, because it shows how far mainstream brands can push the envelope.

If you're a tech enthusiast who doesn’t mind setting up a China-specific ROM, or you're looking for the best hardware Android has to offer—this is it. But if you prefer a seamless out-of-the-box experience with English-first software and global support, you might want to wait for Oppo’s global offerings or stick with the likes of Samsung, OnePlus, or Google.
